Grounded in the Faith | How to get God's Attention

What does it really mean to worship God? Is worship something we do on Sunday mornings, or is it something much greater?

In this week's message, How to Get God's Attention, Pastor Richard invites us to reflect on two powerful verses from Romans 12 that challenge how we understand faith, worship, and our everyday lives.

Worship Beyond Sunday Morning

After eleven chapters exploring God's grace, mercy, and salvation, the Apostle Paul shifts from what we believe to how we live.

As Pastor Richard reminds us, Christianity is not just something to be believed. It's a life to be lived.

True worship doesn't end when the Sunday service is over. It continues through our decisions, relationships, priorities, and the way we respond to God's calling.

Worship becomes meaningful when it moves beyond our words and into our actions.

A Living Sacrifice

In Romans 12:1, Paul encourages believers to offer themselves as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God.

This isn't about giving God a few moments of our time or whatever we have left at the end of the day. It's about surrendering our whole lives to Him.

And that surrender isn't a one-time decision. It's a daily commitment, reflected in the choices we make.

Let God Transform Your Mind

Romans 12:2 challenges us not to conform to the patterns of the world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

In a world filled with competing voices, expectations, and definitions of success, Pastor Richard reminds us that lasting transformation begins with God's truth.

Through Scripture, prayer, and a willingness to let God reshape our thinking, we grow toward spiritual maturity and discover His purpose for our lives.

A Question for the Week

Are we offering God our whole lives, or just the moments that are convenient?

God's attention is already upon us. The invitation is to live in a way that honours Him, not only on Sundays, but every day.

As we continue our Grounded in the Faith series, may we remember that true worship is not simply what we sing or say. It's how we live.

Join us at First Baptist Moncton as we continue exploring the Book of Romans and what it means to live a faith grounded in God's Word.
