Grounded In The Faith | Message 9: Integrity
During this week's message in our Romans series, Pastor Richard Jackson challenged us to consider one of the most important questions a follower of Christ can ask: Am I living a life of integrity?
Drawing from Romans 6:14-23, Paul reminds believers that sin is no longer our master. Through Christ, we have been given a new life and a new nature, enabling us to choose obedience to God rather than being controlled by our old sinful ways.
Pastor Richard highlighted three important truths from this passage:
1. Learn: Sin Is No Longer Your Master
Because of God's grace, believers have been set free from the power of sin. Although we continue to face temptation, sin no longer has authority over our lives. We are called to live according to the new life Christ has given us.
2. Know: You Can Only Serve One Master
Every decision we make reflects who we are following. Paul teaches that we become servants of whatever we obey. As followers of Jesus, we are called to submit ourselves to God rather than allowing old habits and sinful desires to control us.
3. Remember: You Chose Integrity
When we surrendered our lives to Christ, we made a decision to live differently. We chose to pursue a life that pleases God rather than simply doing what is easiest or most beneficial for ourselves. Integrity becomes a reflection of our commitment to Christ.
Integrity is not about perfection; it is about consistently choosing God's way over our own. The quality of our lives matters because it influences how others see Christ through us. A life marked by integrity can draw people toward Jesus and provide a strong foundation during life's challenges.
As followers of Christ, may we continually pursue lives that honor Him, reflecting His grace, truth, and righteousness in everything we do.
