Christmas Eve Worship 2025: A Night of Hope, Light, and Joy
Christmas Eve at First Baptist Moncton is one of the most meaningful moments of our year.
On Wednesday, December 24 at 6:30 p.m., our Sanctuary will glow once again with soft candlelight, beautiful music, and the timeless story of a Savior who stepped into our world so we would never walk through life alone.
For decades, this gathering has been a cherished tradition in our church family and our wider Moncton community. People of all ages, backgrounds, and even different faith traditions come together on Christmas Eve to pause… to breathe… to remember what Christmas is truly about.
“For unto us a child is born…”
Last year, as we reflected on the words of Scripture, we were reminded of the extraordinary gift God gave the world:
the gift of His Son—light in our darkness, peace in our unrest, hope in our despair.
Through this Child, we are invited to call God Abba Father.
Through this Child, broken relationships are restored.
Through this Child, hope is renewed, hearts are healed, and lives are changed.
One of our leaders prayed these powerful words:
“Through this gift, Lord, let there be healing… let there be peace… let there be joy… let there be salvation. For those who have lost hope, let new hope be born.”
Christmas Eve is not just a night of remembrance.
It is a night of renewal.
The Awe and Wonder of Christmas
In last year’s Christmas Eve message, we were reminded that the true wonder of Christmas is not found in the decorations, the gatherings, or even the traditions—beautiful as they are.
The awe of Christmas is this:
God sent His Son to become one of us.
God stepped into our world—not a perfect world, but a messy one—because humanity was in need.
The same God who came into the world 2,000 years ago still comes to us today in our struggles, fears, and hopes.
“Do I see the awe and wonder of Christmas as God meant it to be seen?”
On Christmas Eve, we gather to refocus our hearts on that wonder.
⭐ A Night of Giving, Compassion, and Community
Christmas also calls us to notice those in need—the lonely, the hurting, the struggling.
Just as God reached out to us in love, we are called to reach out to others.
During our Christmas Eve Worship, we will once again support our Benevolent Fund, which helps individuals and families in our church and community facing real challenges. Whether you give during the service or at another time, your generosity becomes a blessing that carries Christ’s love forward.
