When All Seems Lost: A Good Friday Service

A Meaningful Tradition of Reflection and Hope

For over 20 years, the Good Friday service at First Baptist Moncton has been a meaningful tradition — a time to pause, reflect, and remember the depth of what this day represents.

This year, we gather under the theme: “When All Seems Lost.”

Good Friday is a moment in the story where everything appears to fall apart. The cross, silence, grief, and uncertainty. For those who witnessed it, it must have felt like the end.

And yet, it wasn’t.

When Life Feels Heavy

This theme speaks not only to that day, but to our lives today.

There are moments when things don’t go as planned —
a job that doesn’t work out,
a relationship that breaks,
a season of waiting or uncertainty.

In those moments, it can feel like everything is lost.

But the message of Good Friday reminds us that even in the darkest moments, God is still present, still working, and still faithful.

Hope Through Music and Reflection

This year’s service will be a special time of hope for the future through choral music and reflection, led by our choir.

Through music, Scripture, and quiet moments, we will reflect on the meaning of the cross — not only as a symbol of suffering, but as the beginning of restoration and renewed relationship with God.

This is not a loud celebration.
It is a space to breathe, to reflect, and to remember.

We warmly invite you, your family, and friends to be part of this meaningful service.
