Wes PERRY
Contemporary Gathering Worship Leader
Wes has been a musician in one way or another for his whole life. Starting with growing up in children’s choirs in Barrington, NS, to finally picking up guitar then bass in high school, to starting a Christian rock band in university while also being a soloist with the Crandall University choir. While at Crandall University Wes also was awarded their music distinction award before graduating with a B.A. in Religious Studies. Always having a wide variety of interests, Wes later went on to receive a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from NBCC Moncton.
Wes initially began attending First Baptist around 2008, where he soon met Janet, who at the time was working in youth ministry there. Together they now have young two sons, Judah and Silas, who are active in the church’s children’s programs under Janet’s new role as FirstKids Ministry Director.
Previous to working at First Baptist, Wes spent eight years as a field technologist, and a few years at Sunny Brae Baptist, first as the Worship Coordinator, then as the Media Director. Wes currently works full time as a self-employed photographer / videographer at Wes Perry Photography, and is employed part-time in his music and worship role at First Moncton.
Currently Wes is working to grow the worship team, as there will always be room for one more, as well as grow involvement and engagement with the congregation as a whole. He seeks to incorporate more styles, instruments, and cultural backgrounds into the worship at First Baptist, and is always looking for new people with new gifts and talents to help achieve that goal.
