Grounded in the Faith | Message 4: Unashamed

In this fourth message of our series Grounded in the Faith: A Journey Through Paul’s Letter to the Romans, Pastor Richard brings us to a powerful and freeing truth:

The Gospel is not something to be ashamed of—it is the power of God.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God…”

The Pressure to Stay Silent

We live in a culture where faith is often expected to remain private—quiet, personal, and non-intrusive.

But the Gospel was never meant to be hidden.

It is good news—not just for us, but for everyone.

The Gospel Is Power

The Gospel is not advice.
It’s not self-improvement.
It’s not about trying harder.

👉 It is power.

A life-changing, transforming power—like spiritual “dynamite”—that comes from God Himself.

It doesn’t remove every struggle,
but it gives us strength to walk through them.

The Ladder We Keep Climbing

Many of us live as if we need to earn our way to God.

We build “ladders”:

  • Trying to be better

  • Trying to do more

  • Trying to prove ourselves

And for a moment, it feels like we’re getting closer…

But the gap remains.

No matter how high we climb, it’s never enough.

The Good News Changes Everything

Here is the truth that changes everything:

👉 We don’t climb up to God.
👉 God came down to us.

Jesus didn’t wait for us to reach Him.
He came into our brokenness, met us where we are, and lifted us up.

That’s why it’s called the Gospel—the good news.

A Moment to Respond

This message invites us to stop striving and start receiving.

  • Stop carrying the ladder

  • Stop trying to earn what is already given

  • Step into the grace and power of God

Because faith is not about climbing higher—
it’s about trusting the One who came down.

Grounded in the Faith

As we continue this journey through Romans, may we live unashamed—
confident in the power of the Gospel.

A power that saves.
A power that restores.
A power that meets us exactly where we are.
