An Encounter With the Risen Christ
In Luke 24:12–35, we walk alongside two disciples on the road to Emmaus—confused, discouraged, and trying to make sense of everything that had happened. The cross had shattered their expectations. Hope seemed lost.
And yet, in the middle of their uncertainty, Jesus Himself comes near and walks with them.
He listens to their pain.
He speaks truth through the Scriptures.
He patiently reveals God’s plan—even when they don’t yet understand.
How often does that reflect our own journey?
Moments when we don’t see clearly, when our expectations don’t match reality, when we wonder where God is in the middle of it all.
Still, Jesus draws near.
The turning point comes in a simple, sacred moment—the breaking of the bread. Suddenly, their eyes are opened. What was hidden becomes clear.
“Were not our hearts burning within us while He talked with us on the road?” (Luke 24:32)
Their sorrow turns into joy.
Their confusion becomes clarity.
Their journey is transformed by an encounter with the risen Christ.
This Easter message, An Encounter With the Risen Christ, reminds us that the resurrection is not just something to believe—it is something to experience.
Jesus is not distant—He is present.
He meets us in our questions.
He walks with us in our uncertainty.
He reveals Himself in ways that awaken our hearts and renew our hope.
And just like those disciples, when we truly encounter Him, we cannot stay the same. We are moved to go, to share, and to live in the light of this life-changing truth:
The tomb is empty.
Jesus is alive.
And He is still walking with us today.
