Christmas at First Moncton

Miracles do happen! Christmas is one of the biggest examples of miracles the world has ever seen. Think about it. The world, a mess, in need of a miracle to save it from itself. People, a mess, in need of a miracle to save them from themselves. God had a miraculous response to the needs of the world and the needs of people in it. His response - a baby!

Celebrate the miracle of the Christmas Season with us at First Moncton.

Advent Combined Gathering 2019.jpg

To celebrate the first Sunday of Advent our Contemporary and Traditional Worship Gatherings are combining. Sunday, December 1st, 10:30am. Choir, Worship Team, Drama, Children’s Tambourine Choir, Advent Week 1, Communion…lot’s of things to start the beginning of the Christmas Season. Not to mention, there’s a soup lunch afterwards!

Sunday, December 1st, 6:30pm. “Hanging of the Greens” is a yearly Christmas traditional at First Moncton. This special gathering helps us mark the first week of Advent by joining together for a time of worship which incorporates decorating the Sanctuary with all the trimmings of the Season. Not to mention, it’s the first time in the Season when our big Christmas tree lights up!

While Christmas is a season of joy, peace, hope, and time with family, for some, it is also a season of loneliness, remembering those who have been lost, grief, depression, anxiety, and maybe even lack of hope. Our “Blue Christmas Service” is where we recognize that not everybody is looking for the glitz, glamour, and upbeat happiness of the Season. It’s a more reflective and gentle gathering that allows for people to recognize their grief and needs during this time of year. Sunday, December 15th, 6:30pm in our Sanctuary.

Candlelight Service 2019.jpg

Sunday, December 22nd, 6:309pm. Our Annual Candlelight Service is a long-standing tradition at First Moncton and in the City of Moncton. Enjoy the sounds of the Season as our church musicians from our Sanctuary Choir, Worship Band, Handbells, and others take us on a musical journey through the miracle of Christ’s birth. Please note: our storm date will be on Monday, December 23rd, same time.
