CATALINA ORTIZ
Communications Team Lead Coordinator
Catalina has experience in strategic communications, journalism, and digital media. Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Communication and a Master’s degree in Political Communication, and she is currently pursuing a Master of Management at Crandall University in Moncton.
She served as Director of Communications in the Senate of Colombia, where her strategic guidance helped position a senator among the top ten most recognized congressmen in the nation, earning a prominent presidential profile. Catalina also coordinated a presidential campaign communications team, leading efforts that successfully elevated the candidate’s visibility. In addition, she worked as a Press Officer in the House of Representatives in Bogotá, honing her expertise in public relations, political messaging, and media engagement.
At First Baptist Moncton, Catalina leads the church’s communications strategy with creativity and vision—overseeing digital content, social media, website updates, and outreach initiatives that strengthen the church’s connection with the community. Her professional background in storytelling and marketing, combined with her passion for service, allows her to share the message of faith and fellowship in fresh and meaningful ways.
