First Baptist Youth have many opportunities to develop their leadership skills through service to others both at First Baptist, in our community and beyond. One a month, the youth are involved in helping serve at the Fed-4-Life Soup Kitchen that provides a meal for those in need in the city. Each summer, youth take on leadership roles working with children at the Vacation Bible School. Youth also practice their leadership skills through Tidal Impact and Mission Tour.
Springforth is a high energy weekend event held every May that invites students to take a leap forward in their journey with God. Springforth is held at two locations in Moncton, a middle school site and a high school site with huge worship rallies, workshops and crazy activities.
Tidal Impact is Canada’s largest youth mission program and occurs every second year in two Atlantic Canadian locations simultaneously. Lives and communities are changed as churches partner together to proclaim and demonstrate the love of God. Throughout the week students will be challenged to impact self, impact the local church, and impact community.
First Baptist Youth regularly participate in an international mission trip, where they live their faith as they serve others, share about God and learn more about themselves and their own faith. It has been shown that of young adults who retain their faith, over 80% of them had been involved in a short term missions trip. Most recently, in 2016 the youth travelled to New Orleans to work with the homeless, assist with daily responsibilities at a rehabilitation facility, and work with Katrina Relief.
