Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer
and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
— Philippians 4:6

First Baptist Moncton is a praying church. Prayer is foundational to our relationship with God and is an important part of worship and of the many ministries at First. As one of the spiritual disciplines, personal prayer is encouraged and nurtured through IGNITE. There are opportunities to participate in prayer and to grow in this spiritual discipline in a variety of ways at First Baptist Moncton.

Prayer Meeting

From mid-September to mid-May, Prayer Meeting is held every Wednesday at 6:15 pm in the Church Parlour following the Wednesday Night Supper. The rest of the year, it starts at 6:30 pm. This informal gathering includes a hymn sing, Bible study and a time of prayer.

Prayerline Ministry

There are several prayer lines existing in the church to provide for intentional prayer for specific requests that are received from the church family and outside the church. This ministry is one way in which those in the church can support one another in a very powerful way.

Small Group Ministries

Participation in a small group is a life-enriching experience! Participants grow spiritually as they study the Word of God and pray for each other. There are several small groups that meet for book studies or use the 4X4 Small Group Ministries approach.

Prayer Requests

Prayer requests can be made by calling the church office at 857-1113 or by speaking with one of the pastors.

IGNITE is a First Baptist Moncton initiative that provides a set of tools to help persons grow in their faith. Prayer is one of the spiritual disciplines, and as we grow in our prayer life with God, we grow spirituality as well. A necessary and regular part of a Christian’s life, prayer is an intimate conversation with God. It is also an important part of a daily quiet time. Learn more about IGNITE and making prayer and a quiet time part of your daily routine.
