Sunday, June 2nd, First Moncton celebrates 191 years of presence and ministry in Moncton. We’re looking pretty good for being 191 years old and we want to celebrate!
The theme for our celebration is “BECOMING”…a focus on how the fingerprints of the past and what we do in the present all work together to help us “become” the church God wants us to be now and the church He wants us to be moving forward in change. The focus comes from our vision:
Becoming a Revelation Church where people from ALL ETHNICITIES, ALL GENERATIONS, AND ALL ECONOMIC REALITIES are challenged to be RADICALLY TRANSFORMED BY GOD.
The morning starts at about 10:00am (time changed from previously announced) with a pre-worship “Next Generations Musical Celebration" as the children and youth of First Moncton share there musical gifts. So, come on out a little earlier that our worship time to listen and support our Next Generations!
At 10:30am our Worship Celebration starts highlighting the various parts of our vision. People from our international community will be sharing and leading us in worship. Our Children’s Tambourine Group will also be, well, tambourine-ing! The Sanctuary Choir, Handbells, Worship Team…oh, and BAPTISMS! We have a number of people who want to share what Christ means to them by entering the waters of baptism. Our special guest speaker is Cheryl Ann Beals, Director of Clergy Formation & Wellness for Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada (CBAC) - an amazing person with an amazing message!
Following our worship time we are having an International Potluck in our gym! Bring something to share, if you can. If not, no worries, just come down to eat and meet! Stay for a little while or more. Just drop in!
